The Martí family arrived in Sitges, 1950. Josep Marti Orobig and his wife opened the restaurant, by then, the tourist industry was starting to develop. It was the time where the table’s clothing was washed by hand, the maître served his customers at English style and prepared the courses in front of the client such as Diana steak, sea bass with fennel, crêpes Suzette … a new generation descendant of the early pioneers, Leopoldo and Josep Lluís remain in charge of the family business which is one of the oldest in Sitges. Recently, it has been restored, a cube from the eighteen century, it is a reminder of the old district of the cooper’s bank, these boots full of wine were transported to the West Indies. At the beginning of XIX century this industry disappeared and were built villas designed to wealthy families from Barcelona.
The restaurant has been visited by celebrities like Errol Flynn, Scarlett Johanson and Ferran Adrià, Mourinho, Steven Spielberg among others.
The restaurant’s philosophy has always been to promote local and proximity quality products, trying to give customers a pleasant atmosphere.
