The Martí family arrived in Sitges in 1950.
José Martí Orobig and his wife opened the restaurant at a time when there was little tourism, when the linen was washed by hand, the maître d'hôtel served in the English style and the customers were served flambées, sirloin steak Diana, sea bass with fennel, crêpes Suzette...
Years later, the second generation, Leopoldo and Josep, took over and started to create a Mediterranean and local cuisine that is still in place today.

A place with a long history
A wine press, dating from the 18th century, has recently been found and restored in the basement of the dining room. It is a vestige of the old "dels boters de la ribera" neighbourhood. At the beginning of the 19th century, this industry disappeared and in its place many of the villas of the then wealthy families of Barcelona were built.
3rd Generation of restaurateurs
In 2020, the restaurant celebrates its 70th birthday and the 3rd generation, Carol Martí, takes over the management. Married to Daniel and with two children, Mariona and Gerard, she has always been linked to the restaurant since she was a child, but also to the world of communication, with a degree in Communication from the UOC and a diploma in hotel management from the Barcelona School of Catering and Hotel Management. She has also taken pastry courses at the "Espai Sucre" and cooking courses at the Hofmann school in Barcelona.
Recognition for a career
In 2015, the Sitges town council recognised the restaurant for its more than 50 years of history and as one of the oldest restaurants in Sitges.
